Let’s take action!
*April 30 – #OurFairMaps – Day of Action. The Campaign Legal Center (the national Whitford legal team) is asking people and organizations—of all backgrounds, regardless of whether they are currently engaged in democracy advocacy—to post a short (~1 minute) selfie-style testimonial video on social media on April 30th, posting with the hashtag #OurFairMaps, explaining why they support Fair Maps and why it matters to them. Click HERE for more information, sample videos and a template to help you create your own #OurFairMaps Day video. Carlene Bechen (Fair Maps Coalition) made one. https://youtu.be/so9AA0liMwg. So did I. If we can do it so can YOU!
*Sunday May 2 at 7PM. RSVP HERE for “Mopping up Wisconsin’s Map Mess. Hosted by Grassroots North Shore, co-sponsored by the WI League of Women Voters and the Fair Maps Commission. This is a nonpartisan action-oriented webinar. Share a PDF flyer with friends. Post a photo version on social media.
*Monday May 10 7PM monthly North Shore Fair Maps meeting. RSVP now! https://bit.ly/NSFMMonthly. Our April meeting with Nick Stephanopolous was a huge hit, and May looks promising. This meeting features Walter Olson, Senior Cato Fellow and Republican co-chair of the Maryland Citizens Redistricting Commission. Wisconsin was gerrymandered by Republicans. Maryland was gerrymandered by Democrats. No matter where it happens it hurts us all. It’s time to #EndGerrymandering. This meeting will also feature speakers from a variety of political perspectives. It’s a great “bring a friend” meeting — so we made a flyer for you to share, in both PDF (with clickable links) and JPEG formats. In an effort to expand our reach, we are sending a target postcard mailing to local Independent voters. This should be an exciting meeting, so RSVP NOW!
*Be informed. In case you missed the meeting with Nick Stephanopolous last week, click HERE for the slide deck and HERE for the video. Be informed.
*We need maps! Sign up for Map Play, our way to help the People’s Maps Commission collect “communities of interest” data. Read more on our Maps Page. Map Play sign up: https://bit.ly/MapPlay.
*We need map makers! Sign up with the Fair Maps Coalition for DistrictR training to make your own map / become a trainer. We need volunteers to learn how to make maps!
